Spike Lee, Afroamerikan yönetmen, yapımcı, senarist ve oyuncudur. Filmlerinde genel olarak tartışmalı, sosyal ve politik konuları ele alan Lee, eserlerinin jeneriklerinde "Spike Lee Joints" olarak anılır ve filmlerinin jeneriklerinde daima "By Any Means Necessary", "Ya Dig" ve "Sho Nuff" yazar.
Lee'nin çıkış yaptığı filmi She's Gotta Have It, 1986'da gösterime girdi. Lee bu filmin yönetmenliğini, yapımcılığını ve senaryo yazarlığını üstlendi. Ayrıca bu film ve sonraki iki filmi olan School Daze ve Do the Right Thing eserlerinde oyuncu olarak da yer aldı.
