Serer, genellikle Serer-Sine ve Serer-Saloum gibi farklı bölgesel lehçelere bölünür, 2009 itibarıyla Senegal'de 1,2 milyon ve Gambiya'da 30.000 kişi tarafından konuşulan Nijer-Kongo ailesinin ait bir dildir.Serer halkının başlıca dilidir ve erken modern Sine, Saloum ve Baol'un krallıklarının diliydi.
